Marcus Rashford says societal media platforms create racism’easy’ and encouraged them to do much more to handle the matter.
The Manchester United and England forward has been one of a number of players mistreated lately, after missing a punishment through United’s 2-1 defeat against Crystal 36, exposed.
Rashford considers the way to solve the challenge is simple – ensuring users are only allowed one account per platform.
„For me personally, it’s too simple to do whatever you like on the internet,“ Rashford said before England’s European Qualifier against Bulgaria.
„Any of us today could proceed and create accounts and write what we need under anybody’s posts and no one would ever understand.
„The solution is not hard to work out if you’d like to show identification to create an account that means everybody can just have one account.
„For me personally, there is thousands of people that use my name on social media and they can write what they like.“
„But folks are speaking out and people are listening hopefully we could put it directly.“
In an effort to clamp down on the issue, Twitter are currently suggesting to track 50 black footballers’ accounts – .
„That does not alter anything, the amount of accounts out there is ridiculous – a lot of them aren’t doing it out of their accounts, they are all collectible accounts,“ Rashford additional.
„To be honest, if it continues people will just start to come off the programs when it they end up doing more bad than good.“
This past week, Chris Powell was appointed as a trainer from the England set up and Southgate believes it is important to provide people from ethnic minorities opportunities.
On the appointment of the former Charlton, both Huddersfield and Southend manager:“We are trying to be at the forefront of giving chances to athletes in minority ethnic groups and Chris is a good example of somebody who’s entirely capable, has great experience for a supervisor and clearly experience of worldwide football – he has really worked with a few of the players in our team when he was a team manager.
„So, I’m hoping it is going to be a brilliant insight for him to how we operate. He’ll have the ability to deliver qualities we do not have within our training team.
„We hope to make role models that young people can expect to. That they could see there is opportunity, they can see that a number of the barriers they feel have been there, have been broken down. We think that’s a really strong and important message.“
